Crucial triumphs in the key battleground states have lifted former President Donald Trump back to the White House. Trump has been projected to win all three "Blue Wall" states of Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. With big additional wins in North Carolina and Georgia, he has secured the 270 electoral votes needed to reclaim the presidency, becoming the first president who will serve non-consecutive terms since former Democratic New York Gov. Coverage of Wednesday’s home-grown terrorist attack on Capitol Hill led to CNN's “most-watched day” since the 40-year-old news service first launched. FBI Creates Quick-Tip Form To Collect Info On Capitol Hill Rioters
In the wake of the Capitol Hill riot, the FBI has created a way for people to quickly inform feds if they suspect someone of having taken part in the Wednesday, Jan. 6 attack in Washington, D.C. An online form was created for the FBI tips page - tips.fbi.gov - where people can help the Federal Bureau of Investigation “identify individuals who are actively instigating violence in Washington, D.C.” The form allows for the submission of photos and videos as well as written information at fbi.gov/USCapitol. The goal of the form, the FBI said, is to “preserve the public’s constitutional right t…

The leader of the free world can no longer post a tweet. Capitol Hill Riots Spark Outrage From Connecticut Political Leaders
Elected officials in Connecticut condemned the chaos that reigned supreme this week as Trump supporters stormed the U.S. Capitol building to show their support for his refusal to accept the results of November's presidential election. Following the riots in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday, Jan. 6, some of the Nutmeg State's top officials spoke out against the riots, during which four people died and dozens were taken into custody by police. U.S. Sen. Chris Murphy expressed his outrage over what he called "a violent, fringe group of traitors to our nation who are not going away so long as Tru…

Is Lamont's Endorsement Political Payback After Biden Campaigned For Him During 2018 Race?
Gov. Ned Lamont is endorsing former Vice President Joe Biden for the Democratic presidential nomination. But is it merely political payback for the Delaware Democrat's support during Lamont's gubernatorial campaign? "When my campaign needed a final push last fall, @JoeBiden was there. I’ve gotten to know him more over the years and now, I’m grateful that he’s thrown his hat in the ring to run against President Trump," Lamont tweeted last week, along with a photo of Biden campaigning for him. Lamont continued on Twitter: "As Democrats, we are fortunate to have such an impressive field. The …

Connecticut House OK's Presidential Popular Vote Measure
The Connecticut House of Representatives narrowly voted on Thursday, April 26 to approve a bill directing the state to join a compact committing its seven electoral votes to the presidential candidate who wins the national popular vote, according to multiple news reports. The compact would not take effect until states representing 270 electoral votes sign onto a compact that would undo a 200-year-old element of the U.S. Constitution. If approved by its state Senate, Connecticut would bring the tally to 11 states and 172 electoral votes. The candidate with the most votes should win, a standa…
