Man Charged With Manslaughter In Death Of Two During Crash Nabbed With Loaded Gun, Police Say
A Fairfield County man with a long history with the Stamford Police Department, including being arrested for his involvement in the death of two people during a crash, has been arrested again.
Jerry Diaz, 20, of Stamford, was arrested by Stamford Police around 3:30 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 16, in what started as a call for a harassment complaint at 27 High Ridge Road, said Sgt. Jeffrey Booth.
According to Booth, the suspect in the complaint was Diaz, who is facing manslaughter charges in the death of two people who were in a vehicle he was driving when it crashed in August 2019.

Stamford Bank Robber Nabbed Within Hours, Police Say
Police have nabbed a suspect who allegedly held up a Fairfield County bank on St. Patrick's Day.
The robbery took place around 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 17, at the First County Bank, on High Ridge Road, in Stamford, said Stamford Police Capt. Richard Conklin.
During the robbery, a man described as being in his 20s, wearing a knit cap, large sunglasses, and a dark hooded sweatshirt, walked into the bank and passed a note to the teller demanding money, Conklin said.
He then fled the bank. No one was injured and no weapons were used.

Boyfriend Attacks Woman At Stamford Medical Office In Front Of Patients, Police Say
A 44-year-old area man is behind bars after walking into a doctor's office where his girlfriend works and dragging her by her hair and attacking her in front of patients.
The incident took place around 3:25 p.m., Monday, Oct. 28, when Dwayne Keel, of Bridgeport, entered the medical office located in the 12- block of High Ridge Road, Stamford Police Sgt. Robert Shawinsky said.

Man, 24, Caught With Stolen Gun At Burger Joint In Stamford, Police Say
A 24-year-old man was busted with an alleged stolen gun while stopping in a restaurant to grab a burger, said the Stamford Police Department.
The bust went down around 5:30 p.m., Thursday, April 25, when members of the Stamford Police Narcotics and Organized Crime Unit learned that two men would be in the area of the Five Guys restaurant on High Ridge Road with guns, said Capt. Richard Conklin.
Officers set-up surveillance on the restaurant and watched as two men, including Wilbert Bunch of Stamford walked into the restaurant. Officers moved in and searched both men, Conklin said.
