The bridge is not the only improvement coming to the area around the station. Construction recently began on a new railroad bridge over Atlantic Street -- just a block down the street from the train station. The project will also involve extending the I-95 Exit 8 off-ramp from Atlantic Street to Cana…

Burgeoning Model Airplane Club Takes Flight At Redding's Meadow Ridge REDDING, Conn. — A love of flying runs in Bill Morris’s family. His father served as an aerial photography instructor in World War I. Morris, a Redding resident, would later carrying on the flying tradition by learning to solo pilot a Cessna 150. On Tuesday, Morris watched a model aircraft demonstration at the Meadow Ridge retirement community. Though he hasn’t flown a plane for years, Morris hopes to fly again — with a model plane. “What I learned — of course, this is 50 years ago — I can probably apply some of it to flying one of these models, but it’s much different standing on the groun…

And if you’re visible and obey the traffic laws, then the traffic avoids you, too.” Martin was on hand for the kick off of CTrides Week, which runs through May 20. A special initiative of the Connecticut Department of Transportation, the program is intended to reduce traffic cong…
Norwalk Needs Two Structures To Replace Aging Walk Bridge For Trains Norwalk Needs Two Structures To Replace Aging Walk Bridge For Trains
Norwalk Needs Two Structures To Replace Aging Walk Bridge For Trains NORWALK, Conn. — The replacement for the aging Walk Bridge, which carries trains over the Norwalk River, could be twice as nice when completed — and double the trouble while under construction.     That's because every option for replacing the swing bridge calls for two independent structures, officials said at a public meeting in Norwalk on Wednesday evening. While the current bridge carries four tracks on a single structure, all of the current proposals to replace the bridge call for two separate structures that would carry two tracks each. “So if there’s an issue with one of the two tr…
