FAIRFIELD, Conn. Your votes helped Kristin Golias story get on national TV. Now you can help the Stamford resident and Fairfield teacher get a new car and $25,000 for Osborn Hill School. Golia is one of five finalists in the Live! With Kelly Top Teacher Search.
Golia, a third-grade teacher at Osborn Hill, was nominated by Jessica Gerber, mother of two of her former students. Gerbers son, Teddy, was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer shortly after starting the third grade. With Golias help, Teddy managed to pass the grade despite missing 100 days of school. He died shortly before he was due to start fourth grade.

When the show ends at 10 a.m., voting will begin the shows website. Voting lasts through the following weekend. The contest winner will be announced on May 22. The winning teacher will receive a 2013 Ford Fusion and a $25,000 donation to her school.
