Two Accidents Lead to DUI Charges in Fairfield

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Two car accidents led to driving under the influence charges for the drivers involved in Fairfield Thursday night. Christopher Dennehy, 28, of Bridgeport, and Deanna Borzillo, 18, of Sunnyridge Avenue, were both arrested overnight for their roles in separate accidents, police say.

The Fairfield police gave the following report for the two incidents:

Officers found Dennehy behind the wheel of his car Thursday night off Black Rock Turnpike. While driving down the street, he left the road and crashed into a telephone pole. He then failed a field sobriety test and a breathalyzer when police questioned him. He was charged with driving under the influence, failure to drive right and failure to renew registration. He posted his bond and is due in court to face charges on Nov. 21.

A car was traveling eastbound on Old Stratfield Road late Thursday, attempting to turn left onto Alvin Street. The driver told police that Borzillo attempted to pass the car on the left, but did not have enough room and struck the rear bumper. Officers charged her with failure to drive right, driving under the influence and driving without insurance. She posted her bond and will appear in court Nov. 22.
