FAIRFIELD, Conn. A Long Island man was charged with assault for his role in a fight outside a Fairfield bar early Friday morning, police say.
Blake Moskowitz, of Roslyn Harbor, N.Y. was arrested for knocking out another man outside Bills Crossroads Café, police say.
Police gave the following account:
A woman called police at about 12:30 a.m. Friday to report that her boyfriend had been punched in the head, and was left unconscious. The suspect got into a white pickup truck with another man, and sped off. The victim was taken to St. Vincents Hospital for treatment after police arrived.
Police spotted a truck matching the witnesss description at Fairfield residence. The trucks owner told police that he dropped off Moskowitz, the suspect, at a Merritt Street house earlier. Police found him and charged him with third-degree assault and second-degree breach of peace. He was released on a promise to appear in court, and is due to face charges on Jan. 18.

A Fairfield man was charged with drug possession Thursday after packets of heroin fell out of his pocket in plain view of detectives, police say. James Sadowski, 28, was arrested after the incident at his Euclid Avenue home.
Police gave the following report of the arrest: Fairfield investigators were attempting to indentify a residence in Bridgeport that hosted suspected drug sales. Detectives saw Sadowski enter the home, and followed him to Fairfield.
After they knocked on the door, Sadowski invited police inside. During an interview he appeared nervous, and did not want to remove his hands from his pockets when asked to by anofficers. When he finally did, five packets of a substance that would later test positive for heroin fell onto the floor.
Sadowski was charged with illegal possession of narcotics Thursday. He was released on a written promise to appear in court, and is due to face charges on Jan. 19.
