The ticket, worth $25,000 a year -- every year -- for life, had the winning numbers 2-12-18-20-22 and the Lucky Ball was 12.

In Connecticut alone, there were a total of 14,586 lucky winners with prizes from $3 to “$25,000 a year for life” statewide.

Since the new version of the game began in January 2015, the "Lucky for Life" second prize has been won a total of 50 times (nine of which occurred in Connecticut) plus three top prize wins worth $1,000 a day for life.

The minimum guaranteed amount a second prize winner could receive is $500,000 ($25,000 a year for 20 years), but winners who live longer than that will receive prize payments for the remainder of their natural life, lottery officials said.

The second prize “Cash Option” is worth $390,000.

One other "Lucky for Life" second prize still remains unclaimed for the Jan. 11, drawing. The winning ticket was sold in New Haven County and is also worth $25,000 a year for life. The winning numbers for that date were 21-26-28-35-47 and Lucky Ball 9. The winner has until July 9 to claim their prize before the ticket expires, lottery officials said.

Because all draw game tickets expire 180 calendar days from the draw date, players are encouraged to check their tickets carefully -- sooner rather than later. Tickets can be checked online at ctlottery.org, by scanning in a lottery Ticket Checker, by using the official CT Lottery Mobile App, or at any lottery retailer location.
