Fairfielders Stop By For A Chat (And Free Gear)

If you offer free stuff, they will come. TheDailyFairfield reporter Greg Canuel held  Office Hours Thursday afternoon, and not surprisingly, some of the most interested visitors were drawn by the promise of TheDailyFairfield T-shirts and bumper stickers. Zach Gilbert and Cole Murphy stopped by Las Vetas Lounge after their day of school at Tomlinson Middle School to pick up their swag.

But the afternoon wasn’t all about the free goodies. Another Las Vetas patron, Oliver, struck up a conversation about TheDailyFairfield’s parent company, Main Street Connect. Oliver, a former newsman himself, seemed impressed when he heard about our 31-site rollout last week in neighboring Westchester County.

“This is pretty cool,” Oliver said when shown the sites.

Another visitor was Skylar, currently a student at Fairfield University. He said he would check out our coverage of Fairfield’s political happenings. “I’ve been around local politics so long,” said Skylar, “that when I was at UConn-Stamford I had a Connecticut politics professor by the name of Dan Malloy.”

Greg Canuel will hold office hours again soon—keep checking TheDailyFairfield to know when you can stop by for a chat!
