CT DOT Warns Of Treacherous Roads; Crashes Reported Across State From Icy Conditions
The Connecticut State Department of Transportation is asking drivers to take extra precautions to protect themselves while driving because of icy roads. Gov. Ned Lamont ordered the state into its severe cold weather protocol that will begin at 6 p.m. Monday, Jan. 6, and run through noon Thursday. Those cold temperatures have wreaked havoc on several roads across the state. Surprise, Surprise: New Week Starts Off With Some Light Snow
The new week, just days before the start of the new year, has started out with a surprise. With the temperature just below freezing throughout the area, flurries and light snow have overspread the region early Sunday morning, Dec. 30. A dusting is possible in some spots through around 10 a.m. Sunday and the chance of flurries will last until about 11 a.m. as the temperature climbs to a high of around 40 degrees.
