Crews Extinguish Blaze At Fairfield County Residence Firefighters worked overnight to extinguish a blaze that broke out at a Fairfield County home. Crews responded to a deck fire at a home on Island Way in Westport at about 1:40 a.m. on Monday, July 25, according to the Town of Westport Fire Department. A mutual aid truck company from Norwalk also responded to the scene. Authorities located the fire on an exterior deck on the second floor of the home, officials said.  Crews quickly extinguished the fire, the fire department reported.
