New Canaan Woman Charged With DUI After Seen Swerving On Road, Police Say
A local woman has been accused of driving under the influence after she was stopped for driving erratically and without lights in Fairfield County, police said. Tonya Kathleen Gwynn, age 76, was arrested in New Canaan on Sunday, July 23 when an officer spotted her driving on South Avenue near Farm Road with no lights and operating erratically, said police. Road-Rage Incident Leads To DUI Charge For Man In Fairfield County, Police Say
A Fairfield County man has been accused of driving under the influence following a road-rage incident. Michael James Slocum, age 32, of Stamford, was arrested on Tuesday, Aug. 31, after officers in New Canaan were dispatched to the area of South Avenue and Farm Road on a report of a road rage incident that had occurred between two motorists. 12-Year-Old Struck By Vehicle On Way To School In Fairfield County, Police Say
A 12-year-old boy was struck by a vehicle while on his way to school in Fairfield County. The incident took place around 8:17 a.m., Tuesday, April 27, at the intersection of South Avenue and Farm Road in New Canaan, said New Canaan Police Lt. Jason Ferraro. According to Ferraro, the boy, a 12-year-old boy, a student at Saxe Middle School, suffered minor injuries from the crash and was transported to Norwalk Hospital ER by NC EMS for treatment and further evaluation of his injuries. Alert Issued For Eversource Gas Main Project In New Canaan
As part of a multi-million-dollar project to expand the natural gas distribution system in Darien and New Canaan, Eversource Energy will be working along State Routes 106 and 124 beginning the week of April 30. According to local police, drivers may experience delays due to alternating one-way traffic as well as occasional lane closures.
