DARIEN, Conn. -- As a result of a major water leak at a Darien pumping facility Monday and its ongoing emergency repair, Aquarion Water officials are asking its Darien customers to refrain from using irrigation systems and hose-end sprinklers until Thursday. 

Hand-held watering is still acceptable during this period. In addition, some customers may experience lower water pressure. Company officials said they expect to have the pumping facility back in service by Friday.
