Winter Weather Advisory Issued For Northern Fairfield County

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. - A forecast for freezing rain and sleet prompted the National Weather Service to issue a winter weather advisory for northern Fairfield County until 9 a.m. Wednesday.

Accumulations of a 10th of an inch of ice were possible, with temperatures in the lower 30s overnight, the weather service said.

Freezing rain and sleet was predicted to fall overnight and into early Wednesday. The wintry mix was expected to change to all rain by mid-morning, the weather service said.

The ice will create slippery and hazardous road conditions through the night and into the morning rush hour, the weather service said.

Rain is expected to fall all day Wednesday, the weather service said, with patchy fog and high temperatures in the low 40s with gusting winds.
