A 911 call came in at about 12:50 p.m. Friday about the fire, said a statement from James Gagliardo, communications coordinator for the department.

When firefighters arrived, they found the shed in flames but posing no threat to the nearby home at 12 Jackson Drive, Gagliardo said.

Additional crews arrived shortly after along with shift commander Joe Halas, he said.

The fire was quickly extinguished by Engine Co. 23, he said.

Due to the cold weather — it was about 10 degrees at the time with gusting winds — Germantown Volunteer Fire No. 10 and Miry Brook Fire Department responded with tankers to support the first in units with water, Gagliardo said.

This is done in case primary water supplies are frozen, he said.

The Danbury Fire Marshals office was enroute to investigate the cause of the fire, he said.

No injuries were reported.
