According to the National Weather Service, isolated thunderstorms will move into the area Thursday afternoon, with a chance some of the storms could become severe and contain hail. Once the rain has moved out, a coastal low is predicted to bring significant snow to the state on Sunday and into Monday.
The forecast includes:
- Thursday: Scattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 2 p.m. Some of the storms could produce small hail and gusty winds. Partly sunny, with a high near 64. West wind 5 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.
- Thursday Night: Scattered showers and thunderstorms before 9 p.m., then isolated showers between 9 and 11p.m. Some of the storms could produce small hail and gusty winds. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 40. Southwest wind 3 to 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.
- Friday: A chance of showers, mainly between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 52. West wind 8 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.
- Friday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 27. Wind chill values between 20 and 25. Northwest wind 10 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph.
- Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 43. Northwest wind 8 to 10 mph.
- Saturday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 27.
- Sunday: A chance of snow after noon, mixing with rain after 3 p.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 38. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.
- Sunday Night: A chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 29. Chance of precipitation is 50 percent.
