All of Fairfield County, as well as Connecticut, the Hudson Valley and the metro New York City area are under a Winter Weather Advisory from 1 p.m. Monday until 7 a.m. Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.
A wintry mix is expected to begin falling, with 2 to 4 inches of snow accumulation possible along with freezing rain, the weather service warned.
The snow will develop Monday afternoon and gradually mix with freezing rain and changing to rain by early Tuesday.
Roadways will be slippery, making for dangerous travel, especially for the Monday evening and Tuesday morning commutes.
Drivers are urged to use caution as the storm rolls into Fairfield County.
Sunday night will be mostly clear, with a low around zero degrees.
On Monday, there will be a high temperature near 32 with wind chills of 5 and 15.
The high on Tuesday will be near 50, with heavy rain. A total of 1 to 2 inches of rain is possible with some parts of the area seeing flash flooding, especially along the coast.
