Firefighters Rush To Scene Of Blaze After Hearing Explosion In Danbury Danbury firefighters rushed to the scene of a blaze in town before receiving a dispatch call after hearing an explosion Sunday morning. The firefighters at fire headquarters heard an explosion just before the dispatch went off, said James Gagliardo, communications coordinator of the Danbury Fire Department. When they arrived at Fairlawn Avenue, there was a heavy fire at a two-bay, detached garage. The incident was upgraded to a working fire bringing in additional units to assist. The garage had hazardous materials inside in the form of oxygen and propane tanks for a glass blowing operation…
