Clergy Offered Emergency Preparedness Training In Fairfield County's Largest City
Communities everywhere look to their houses of worship in times of disaster. Days after Hurricane Michael hit Florida's pan handle in October 2018, trained emergency volunteers from the statewide Florida Baptist Disaster Relief and Recovery Ministries partnered with churches in the affected communities to help recovery efforts. Mobile Farmers Market To Launch In Bridgeport, Will Also Stop In Fairfield, Westport
A mobile farmers market is coming to Bridgeport and will make rounds in neighboring Fairfield and in Westport all summer. The Council of Churches of Greater Bridgeport Center for Food Equity and Economic Development—FEED received a $60,000 grant to launch the market. “We are incredibly excited to incorporate a retail space on wheels into our core programs," said FEED Center Director, Michelle McCabe.
