Woman Struck, Killed In Busy Bridgeport Crosswalk A woman died after being struck by a car in a busy Fairfield County crosswalk. She was walking in Bridgeport westbound on Washington Avenue around 8 a.m., Monday, Jan. 5, when she was hit by a vehicle traveling southbound on Coleman Street. The woman, identified as 79-year-old Marilyn Jones, was rushed to Bridgeport Hospital, where she died from her injuries, said Capt. Lonnie Blackwell of the Bridgeport Police. Perez made the announcement on Monday, Feb. 11 following the two deaths in the Hollow section of the city over the past several days.
