Nine Injured In Route 9 Multi-Vehicle Crash  Nine people were transported to area hospitals following a three-vehicle crash on Route 9, according to Peekskill Police. The crash occurred around 4:30 a.m. Sunday when a vehicle traveling southbound plowed into the back of another vehicle, said Lt. John White.  "For some reason, the vehicles stopped in the middle of the highway and with foggy conditions, they were hit by a third car that was also traveling southbound," White said. Pedestrian Seriously Injured After Being Hit By Car In Ramapo ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. -- A male pedestrian was seriously injured after being hit by a vehicle Monday on New Hempstead Road, according to Ramapo Police. As a result of the investigation into the accident, the roadway has been closed west of Route 45, police said.  The male has been transported to the hospital by Hatzolah Ambulance. The Ramapo Police Accident Investigation Unit is on the scene investigating. Drivers should expect significant traffic delays in the area, police added. This is a developing story. Man Kicks In Door, Stabs Two In New City, Police Say ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. -- A Pomona man kicked in the door to enter a New City home then stabbed a man and a woman as their 2-year-old child was in the home, according to Clarkstown Police. Brandyn Johnston, 24, was arrested after police tracked him to Mount Ivy following the attack which took place around 11:30 p.m. Sunday on West Clarkstown Road, said Officer Peter Walker, spokesman for the department. Suspicious Vehicle In Southeast Leads To DWI Charge For 29-Year-Old Putnam County sheriff's deputies nabbed a drunk driver after checking out a suspicious vehicle parked along North Brewster Road in the Town of Southeast. When Deputy Ronald Yeager arrived to check out the report of the suspicious vehicle, he found a male sitting in the driver’s seat, with the vehicle’s keys in the ignition and the engine running, said Capt. William McNamara. The deputy discovered that the driver of the car, Yerlin Giron, 29, of Danbury, Conn., was intoxicated, McNamara said. Hastings Schools Focusing On Hate Issues After Swastika Found Students in the Hastings-on-Hudson school district are learning a lot more than reading, writing and math after a swastika was found in one of its schools on Wednesday. The Nazi symbol, etched on a piece of paper in an art room at the Farragut Complex of the middle-high school building, was discovered by students.
