First Presbyterian Church Of Yorktown Breaks Ground For A Labyrinth YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- The First Presbyterian Church recently broke ground on the construction of an outdoor labyrinth. The labyrinth will be a single path with one entrance and exit that will be walked as part of a spiritual practice. The Hudson River Presbytery gave a grant to First Presbyterian Church of Yorktown for the construction of the labyrinth.  Certified labyrinth facilitator Lynn Brown will lay out the Chartres-style seven-circuit labyrinth.  Boy Scout troop 165 will build a box to hold a guestbook.  Plans are underway to dedicate the labyrinth this fall.  The effort is part of …

Sleepy Hollow Tarrytown Chamber Awards Scholarship To Top Student SLEEPY HOLLOW, N.Y. -- The Sleepy Hollow Tarrytown Chamber of Commerce recently presented their annual scholarship to Sleepy Hollow High School's Whanda Camacho.  Guidance counselor David Ziegler introduced Camacho to the Chamber of Commerce members at their recent monthly meeting at Ruth's Chris Steak House. Camacho won the scholarship with an essay about her community involvement and how it impacted her life.  She plans to attend Westchester Community College to pursue elementary education.

Arrival Of Summer Comes With Rare Strawberry Moon In Westchester MAMARONECK, N.Y. -- The arrival of the summer solstice in Mamaroneck came with a rare strawberry moon on Monday, June 20.  A strawberry moon is the phenomenon when a full moon takes place on the summer solstice.
