Malloy Meets Up With Obama At White House

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. — Connecticut Gov. Dannel Malloy is spending more time in Washington, D.C. — and getting more face time with President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden.

On Friday afternoon, Malloy sent out a Tweet and photo, saying, "Wonderful opportunity today to meet with @POTUS & @VP at the @WhiteHouse along w/ several of our nation's governors."

Just last month, Malloy sat with First Lady Michelle Obama for the president's State Of The Union address.

Malloy, who is in DC to attend the National Governors Association’s 2016 Winter Meeting, will have more opportunities to meet the president.

On Friday morning, Malloy co-chaired a meeting of the Council of Governors at the U.S. Coast Guard Headquarters. In the afternoon, Malloy and a group of other governors met with Obama at the White House.

On Saturday, Malloy will attend sessions of the National Governors Association’s 2016 Winter Meeting, including a meeting of the Natural Resources Committee that he will chair.

On Sunday morning, he will chair a meeting of the Coalition of Northeastern Governors, and then Malloy and other governors will receive a classified threat briefing at the FBI headquarters.

In the evening, Malloy will join governors from across the country for a reception with Obama at the White House.

On Monday morning, Malloy will attend the closing session of the NGA Winter Meeting.

Later that morning, he will join a group of governors for another meeting with Obama at the White House.

He returns to Connecticut on Monday evening.
