The event will take place at the Public Facilities’ Yard in front of the Emergency Operation Center Building on 581 N. Washington Ave.
On the day of the event, residents are asked to volunteer their time to help assemble and deliver complete Thanksgiving dinners to the homes of families in need in the Greater Bridgeport area.
The program, inspired by the Tony Robbins Foundation Feeding Families around the world, has been taking place every year since 1993 on the weekend before Thanksgiving.
This is an event for all ages. Organizers encourage individuals to come with family, friends, co-workers and neighbors to be a part of the Thanksgiving Basket Brigade assembly line.
Hall Neighborhood House, Action for Bridgeport Community Development, Inc., the Kennedy Center and Merton House are just some of the organizations that helped select the families in need.
Besides volunteers, organizers are also asking for donations and small toys, such as coloring books, crayons, Barbie dolls and Hot Wheels cars.
The event will start at 9 a.m.
