Finch to Celebrate the Grand Opening of North Park Shopping Plaza, a New Retail Development which has created 140 jobs in Bridgeport

Ø  WHERE: 1700 Park Ave. (The Intersection of North Avenue and Park Avenue) Ø  WHEN: Friday, June 27 at 10:15 a.m. By BRETT BROESDER Bridgeport – On Friday, Mayor Bill Finch will join principals from Figure Eight Properties and community leaders to celebrate the grand opening of North Park Shopping Plaza.   Located at 1700 Park Avenue, the site that was previously home to the King Cole grocery store, North Park Shopping Plaza has revitalized the site into a vibrant plaza that includes national and regional tenants. Tenants of North Park Shopping Plaza include: Regines, EbLens, Deals, Save A lot, T-Mobile, Peoples United Bank, Mad Rag, McDonald’s and Dr. Dental.   “In Bridgeport, we’re creating jobs and building an environment that allows businesses to grow and thrive,” said Finch. “This development represents millions of dollars in private investment in Bridgeport, more than 100 new jobs created, and the revitalization of a site located in a highly traffic intersection in the center of the city. Thank you to Richard Kooris and the Figure Eight Properties team for their efforts on this project and for working closely with the City to ensure that this development met the needs of the neighborhood.”   This project, which has been developed by Figure Eight Properties, has created 140 jobs in Bridgeport. Of the 140 jobs, 64 are full-time positions. Additionally, the development of North Park Shopping Plaza also resulted in 150 construction jobs.   The ribbon cutting ceremony, which is open to the public, will take place on Friday, June 27 at 1700 Park Avenue starting at 10:15 a.m.  Food and refreshments will be provided by food truck, Christophe’s Crepes.
