Christopher Poore, of Bridgeton, was heading east on Route 40 when he struck Allen Miller Jr., 45, near milepost 20.5 in Pittsgrove around 3 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 18, New Jersey State Police said. Poore then fled the scene. Miller, who police said was from Vineland, was killed as a result of the crash. Stephen La Pierre, of Upper Macungie Township, was operating the vehicle that went off the roadway on Tilghman Street and into an embankment, overturning and ejecting him around 10 p.m., Lehigh County Coroner Daniel Buglio said.
