A fraudster stole $160,000 from a Long Island business while operating from the other side of the country through an email scam, police said Friday, Sept. 4.
Dwayne Stewart, 51, of Oregon, was arraigned Friday for second-degree grand larceny in the scheme, which dated to late 2022, the Nassau County Police Department said.

An elderly drunk driver on Long Island flipped her vehicle after crashing into a sign and a fence, police said.
Carolyn Magliochetti, 67, of Sag Harbor, was arrested at the scene Thursday night, Sept. 3, the Southampton Town Police Department said.
Magliochetti was driving a 2019 Lexus on Noyack Road near Valley Road in Sag Harbor around 7 p.m. Thursday when she left the street and crashed into a street sign, investigators said. Magliochetti shrugged it off and continued down the road, then left the pavement again and hit a fence, cops said.
