Lindenhurst Driver Who Recorded Himself Going 121 MPH Before Deadly Crash Pleads Guilty: DA
A Long Island man who was driving 121 mph and recording his actions on his phone before causing a deadly car crash has pleaded guilty, authorities said.
Felix Pantaleon, 24, of Lindenhurst, copped to one count of second-degree manslaughter on Friday, Sept. 4, the Suffolk County District Attorney’s office said. He is expected to get a four- to 12-year prison sentence, according to authorities.
Reynaldo Collado, 49, of West Babylon, was killed in the wreck on Sept. 22, 2024, officials said.

Cocaine, Money Laundering Gets Two Men Busted In WNY: Prosecutor
Two West New York residents were hit with numerous charges following a narcotics investigation, authorities announced Friday, Sept. 4.
During a court-authorized search of an apartment shared by Roner Arias Ramos, 27 and Juliany Ortiz Yeje, 24, various quantities of cocaine, promethazine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia were recovered, Hudson County Prosecutor Wayne Mello said.
Ramos and Yeje were hit with numerous drug charges, along with money laundering, authorities said. Ramos was found to be in possession of cocaine at the time of his arrest, Mello said.

A Long Island business owner was finally forced to pay more than $400,000 he owed employees following an eight-year battle, authorities said Friday, Sept. 4.
Richard Scores, owner of Westbury Fish, owed $435,000 in unpaid wages to 38 employees and agreed to repay them in a January 2017 plea deal, the Nassau County District Attorney’s office said.
But Scores dodged the restitution payments for eight years, until authorities “took action against Scores’ assets” and forced the repayments in June 2026, the DA’s office said.

Child porn found on devices in a Long Island home led to a resident’s arrest Friday, Sept. 4, police said.
Josue Duran, 33, of Riverhead, was booked for promotion and possession of a sexual performance by a child, the Suffolk County Police Department said.
The Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force tipped off Suffolk County cops about child porn at Duran’s address in Riverhead, investigators said. Officers searched Duran’s home Friday morning and recovered multiple cellphones, cops said.
