The survivor, now an adult, told detectives Rodriguez began abusing her when she was 14. The abuse happened at homes in Caernarvon Township, Berks County, and in Chester County, according to the Berks County District Attorney’s Office.
The case began after the Berks DA’s Office received a ChildLine referral from the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services in March 2025.
After the allegations surfaced, a family member confronted Jonathan Eduardo Rodriguez, 40, investigators said. Rodriguez apologized and told that relative he had been seeking forgiveness from God.
Rodriguez was arrested in April 2025. A jury later found him guilty of three counts of rape by forcible compulsion, three counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse by forcible compulsion, sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault, corruption of minors, endangering the welfare of children, indecent assault, and indecent exposure.
He was sentenced Thursday, Sept. 3, to 26 to 70 years in state prison after a Berks County jury convicted him of 18 charges, court records show.
Judge Thomas G. Parisi ordered Rodriguez to serve consecutive terms of 10 to 20 years on each of two rape convictions, five to 20 years on a third rape conviction, and one to 10 years on an aggravated indecent assault conviction.
Several other prison sentences run concurrently. He was also sentenced to four consecutive five-year probation terms, which will begin after his prison sentence.
Rodriguez was ordered to have no contact with the survivor or anyone younger than 18. He cannot hold a job or position that gives him supervisory authority over minors and must comply with sex-offender conditions, the docket shows.
