15-Year-Old Will Face Charges For Bringing Folding Knife To School In Northern VA, Police Say
A 15-year-old Manassas boy will be facing weapons offenses for bringing a folding knife to school, police said.
The boy was charged on May 22 after a school resource officer at Unity Reid High School found him with the weapon on May 1 around 11:10 a.m., while investigating a separate incident, county police said.
The SRO determined the knife was not part of any threat to other students, faculty, or staff, police said.

Northwest, DC resident Michael Gaddis, 36, who worked with DC’s Safe Passage Safe Blocks initiative, has been identified by police on Tuesday, Jan. 31 as the man who was shot and killed near Coolidge High School.

Two Teens In Custody, No Gun Found After Incident At Woodbridge High School
Two male juveniles were detained in Woodbridge on Monday, September 9, following reports of a gun at a local high school, police reported.
Just after 10:30 a.m., police received word that a student had a gun at Freedom High School, and took one individual into custody, according to the Prince William County Police Department.
No shots were fired and there were no reported injuries from the incident, officials said.

Two teenagers were arrested on the same day after bringing guns to Suitland High School, authorities say.
Police first arrived at the high school to serve an arrest warrant for a 16-year-old boy who had been wanted for a District Heights carjacking in late June, officials said. A school resource officer located the student around 11 a.m., Monday, Aug. 29, and found a gun in the teen's waistband, according to Prince George's County police.
