Michael Pickeral was heading east on Joshua Road when he was struck by a westbound driver that swerved into oncoming traffic just after 5:15 p.m., the sheriff's office said.
Pickeral was hit head-on near Greenleaf Terrace.
Deputies, Fire and Rescue staff, and a witness all attempted to perform life-saving measures on the motorcyclist. Pickeral was ultimately pronounced dead at the hospital while the other driver was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
The crash remains under investigation by Deputy S.C. Martin. If anyone witnessed the crash, or has information regarding the crash, they are asked to contact Deputy Martin at 540-658-4450.
