DUI Driver Found Calmly Smoking Next To Vehicle Crashed In Ditch: Stafford Sheriff A 32-year-old Stafford man left a path of destruction in a drunk driving accident over the weekend, police said. Steven Bates tossed a backpack out of a vehicle after crashing it into a ditch on Clarion Drive and Ferry Road around 2:05 a.m. Saturday, March 16, the county sheriff said.  When deputies arrived, they found the Ford still in the ditch with the driver calmly smoking next to it, police said. Police later learned that the vehicle had gone off Ferry Road, demolished a mailbox, and struck down a street sign before going airborne across Clarion Drive right into the ditch.  …

Drunk Registered Sex Offender Causes Scene In Stafford County: Police A man was arrested for drunk driving in Stafford County and causing a major scene, police said.On Sept. 28 at around 7:45 a.m., officers found a Hyundai Sonata lodged in an embankment at the intersection of Mountain View Road and Kellogg Mill Road, according to the Stafford County Sheriff's Office.  The driver of the Sonata, 57-year-old William Pandolfi, fled the scene and tried to hitch a ride on the back of a nearby garbage truck, authorities said.
