Five minors were injured on Friday afternoon after losing control of a UTV in St. Mary's County, officials say. Shortly before 5;15 p.m. on Friday, deputies from the sheriff's office were called to the area of Holly Bank Drive and Burning Oaks Drive in Mechanicsville, where there was a report of a Utility Task Vehicle that had just been involved in a crash. A 22-year-old armed man was shot by Maryland State Police troopers after lunging at them with a knife Friday, Aug. 18, authorities said.
