Police in Prince William County are seeking a man who tried robbing a bank Monday, March 4. The unidentified man approached the counter at United Bank on Smoketown Road in Woodbridge around 12:30 p.m. with one hand in a bag, county police said. Authorities said a firearm was seen in the bag, but the suspect fled the bank on foot without taking money. No shots were fired, and no injuries were reported. Teen Student Sexually Assaulted In Gar-Field Senior High School Restroom: Police
An 18-year-old Virginia man has been arrested for sexually assaulting a girl in a high school restroom, police said. The victim, who is under the age of 18, was in a restroom at Gar-Field Senior High School on Smoketown Road in Woodbridge when Lamine Mellouk came inside and sexually assaulted her on Oct. 18, Prince William County police said. The girl reported the incident to a family member who contacted police. Mellouk was arrested on Monday, Nov. 27 and charged with misdemeanor sexual battery. He was released on a court summons.

A speeding driver who wasn't wearing a seatbelt when he crashed died in a fiery crash on Saturday morning in Prince William County, police say. Justin Whitfield Brandon, 36, has been identified as the man killed at around 2:45 a.m. on Saturday morning when he crashed in the 3500 block of Veronica Lane in Woodbridge. Prince William County police are searching for a man they say exposed himself at a store on Friday, July 11, authorities said. Customers in a Lowe's at 13720 Smoketown Road in Woodbridge said the man exposed himself and made inappropriate gestures, an incident report said. The man ran out of the store when other shoppers entered the aisle with him, police added. Witnesses said the man was between 50 and 60 years old with brown hair and brown eyes.
