Two men are giving thanks to the Prince William County Police Department, which announced the arrests of seven people who have been apprehended over the past week following an assault in November.

Those charged:

  • Jamal Lee Haley, 19, of Woodbridge;
  • Mohamed Makah Jalloh, 19, of Woodbridge;
  • Abu Bakarr Jalloh, 18, of Woodbridge;
  • Dasan Leandre Chenault, 19, of Woodbridge;
  • Nigel Elijah Cupid, 19, of Woodbridge;
  • Elijah Ajamu Bell, 18, of Woodbridge;
  • A 17-year-old juvenile.

All seven were arrested between Tuesday, Jan. 17, and Tuesday, Jan. 24, according to a department spokesperson.

On Nov. 25, 2022, officers were called to Unique Soles on Garber Way in Woodbridge, where there was a reported robbery involving a group of teens who targeted their victim outside the building.

The investigation determined that a 22-year-old man was in the parking lot of the business when he was approached by a group of individuals, later identified as the above, police say.

During the encounter, one of the group members attempted to steal property from their victim, and when he resisted, he was assaulted. At some point during the struggle, the victim fell to the ground, where the assault continued, according to police, to the point that the 22-year-old man lost consciousness.

According to police, an 18-year-old family member attempted to intervene and then became the group’s second victim.

The family member was able to get the two of them out of the area and contacted the police. Minor injuries were reported by both victims.

All seven have been charged with robbery and assault by mob. Their court date is pending and bond information from the Prince William County Police Department was unavailable on Wednesday afternoon.
