Leesburg Police Chief Gregory Brown In Virginia Set To Retire After Decades Of Service A popular police chief in Virginia is set to retire after decades of service. Leesburg Chief of Police Gregory C. Brown will officially retire on Dec. 1 after 26 years of service in the Leesburg and Loudoun community, the department announced on Thursday, Oct. 20. Brown has held the position of chief since Oct. 3, 2016, and has since expanded the department to a staff of 90 sworn officers and 18 civilians.
