Ryan Jones, Fairfax County Sommelier, Dies After Cancer Battle, 40
Ryan Jones, 40, a certified Sommelier from Fairfax County, died on May 13, 2024 at his childhood home surrounded by family after a battle with neuroendocrine carcinoma, his obituary on the Demaine Funeral Home site says. Ryan graduated from Fairfax High School and went on to attend Radford University, where he was a member of the 2003 Division II National Champion Rugby Team, his obituary reads. Fairfax Teen Fatally Struck By Car Had Dreams Of Becoming Nurse, Loved Ones Say
Support was surging for the family of a 17-year-old Fairfax High School student struck and killed by a car this week. Lesly Diaz-Bonilla's dreams of being a nurse were cut short Wednesday, Nov. 16 when she was struck while crossing Columbia Pike from Barcroft View Terrace in Bailey's Crossroads just before 9 a.m., according to a GoFundMe launched for her family, and authorities.
