School Employee Took 'Indecent Liberties' With Child He Was Caring For In Leesburg: Police

A 32-year-old Virginia man has been arrested for a crime involving a child he'd been caring for in 2017, police said.

Joel A. Shapiro, of Prince William County, was charged on Thursday, April 4 with taking indecent liberties with a child by a custodian (click here for more on what that means), according to Virginia State Police.

The allegation stems from an incident in 2017 while Shapiro was a Clarke County Public Schools employee, police said. The alleged crime happened in Leesburg, according to police.

Shapiro was released on bond from the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center.
