At 4 a.m. on September 4, Loudoun County fire officials reported to a home on Whittingham Circle, where they saw two cars on fire in the driveway and fire showing from the front of the home, as well, according to the Loudoun County Fire Marshal's Office.

Two occupants of the home evacuated upon hearing the explosion sounds from the vehicle fires, officials reported.

Firefighters extinguished the fires and searched for any further danger, authorities said.

Though no first responders reported any injuries, the damage to the home and vehicles is estimated to cost $200,000, law enforcement said.

Within the investigation into this incident, officials discovered an accelerant was used to intentionally start the house and car fires, officials said.

Authorities said Julian Karapetkov was eventually arrested for two counts of attempted murder in the commission of arson, stalking, burning or destroying a  dwelling, and other related charges.

Karapetkov was held on no bond at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center, police reported.
