Vienna Driver, 80, Who Turned Into Crosswalk Killing McLean Pedestrian Cited: Police An 80-year-old driver was served on summons-releasable charges in connection to a deadly crash in Fairfax County last month, police announced. Gamaathige Desoya, of Vienna, was trying to turn left onto northbound Kirby Road on Aug. 12 in McLean, when she struck Brigitte Foster, 86, who was in the crosswalk, the FCPD said. Desoya was cited for Improper Turn and Failure to Yield for a Pedestrian in a Crosswalk. Excessive speed and alcohol are not believed to be factors in the crash. Detectives would like to speak to anyone who may have information about this case. Those with information are …

Woman Fatally Struck By Car In McLean A pedestrian was fatally struck by a car early Friday, Aug. 11 in Fairfax County.
