Peter McCandless has been identified by investigators as the man struck attempting to cross the southbound lanes of Reston Parkway near Market Street earlier this week. The woman was in the crosswalk on Old Ryan Road and Hammersmith Place in Ashburn when she was struck by a Mercedes SUV, around 5:45 p.m., county officials said.
