Arlington County Animal Control was called to I-395 to remove a dead bear from the roadway over the weekend, authorities said. The bear was spotted near Exit 8C around 2:10 p.m. Saturday, June 15, Virginia State Police spokesman Matthew Demlein said. At 5:48 p.m., a passing motorist said he'd struck the bear but did not stop because he was feeling ill. He was not injured. Services have been set for 23-year-old Joshua Craig Jr., the motorcyclist killed in a crash on I-395 last week. Craig, of Dumfries, was heading north on I-395 at a high rate of speed when he lost control and struck a 2012 Acura TL around 4:50 p.m. near milepost 7 in Arlington, Virginia State Police said. A motorcyclist was killed in a crash on I-395 in Arlington on Thursday, April 18, State Police said. The motorcycle was traveling north when it ran off the road near Exit 8 and struck the guardrail around 4:50 p.m., Virginia State Police said. A dangerous I-395 ramp has closed as part of an improvement project, changing traffic patterns for Virginia drivers. One Dead In Fiery Crash On I-495
One person died in a fiery crash overnight on Interstate 495 in Fairfax County. The vehicle was heading west toward I-395 northbound when it ran off the highway near Exit 170B, went over the side cement barrier and landed on railroad tracks below in Springfield around 1:20 a.m. Tuesday, May 2, Virginia State Police said. The impact of the crash caused the vehicle to immediately catch fire. The victim's identity was not released and the accident remains under investigation.
