Missing 17-Year-Old Cocker Spaniel Saved From Culvert Pipe In Spotsylvania A missing 17-year-old Cocker Spaniel had to be saved from a perilous position by first responders in Spotsylvania after getting caught in a culvert pipe. On Tuesday afternoon, Spotsylvania Court Fire, Rescue and Emergency Management personnel were called to the 12000 block of Grantwood Drive, where there was a dog trapped inside the pipe one day after it was reported missing. Driver Whose Dog Bit Deputy During Loudoun County Pursuit In Stolen Car Sentenced A Rochester, NY man whose dog bit a Loudoun County deputy after leading a reckless pursuit that landed four people in the hospital has been sentence to prison time. Justin Connor, of Rochester, NY, who was 27 at the time of the July 2023 incident, was sentenced on May 23, 2024 to seven years and three months in prison by Judge Matthew P. Snow, the county sheriff's office announced. Firefighters Rescue Pooch On The Lam Who Escaped To Tiny Prince William Island Prince William County firefighters had to rescue a dog after it escaped from animal control earlier this week.  The fire department shared photos of a daring water rescue of a chihuahua who got loose from Animal Control and jumped into a pond to escape on Tuesday, July 5. Firefighters jumped into a boat along with animal control workers and captured the pirate pooch after it doggy paddled to a small island a few hundred feet away from the shore.  They returned the wet dog to shore without injury.

2 Dogs Rescued In Prince George's County From Stolen DC Vehicle: Police Two dogs have been rightfully returned to their owner after Prince George's County Police arrested multiple suspects who stole a vehicle from Washington DC, authorities said.  The suspects assaulted the owner and stole the car from the 2000 block of 12th Street around 12:22 p.m. on Wednesday, April 27, Metropolitan Police said.  The two 15-year-olds were later arrested in Prince George's County and are awaiting charges in DC, police said.
