One Killed, One Hospitalized In Double DC Shooting At Busy Intersection, Police Say

Police say that a man was killed and a second hospitalized following the latest fatal shooting in Washington, DC.

An alert was issued by the Metropolitan Police Department at around 11 p.m. on Monday night advising that there was a double shooting near the intersection of Tennessee Street and C Street NE involving a white sedan.

The men were reportedly shot while sitting in a vehicle. 

One was pronounced dead at the scene and the other was rushed to the hospital and listed in stable condition.

No information about either victim or a possible shooter has been released by investigators.

The fatal shooting was reported hours before a second homicide investigation was launched in the District in the 900 block of Sheridan Street NW. 

Both shootings remain under investigation.

There have now been 222 homicides reported in DC so far in 2023, up from 164 at the same time a year ago, according to the department.
