The multi-vehicle crash happened in the southbound lanes of US-17 around 5:15 p.m., the VDOT said. Crash: NB on US-17 at James River Bridge (Rte 17) in Newport News. All NB travel lanes closed. 5:10PM — 511 Virginia (@511statewideva) September 13, 2023 Traffic cameras showed vehicles lined up along the roadway at 5:30. Cars remained lined up, this time with police vehicles, at 7:15 p.m.
