Just one week after Daily Voice reported Niche's list of best public high schools in Virginia, U.S. News & World Report released its own rankings. This Virginia High School Was Just Named The Best In America By US News
A high school in Virginia was named the top school in American by US News. In releasing its latest rankings on best high schools in the US, the website put Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology in Alexandria at No. 1. The STEM school beat out 17,843 nationally-ranked schools and 323 schools ranked in Virginia, according to US News. Minorities comprise 81.7% of the school's enrollment, and had a 100% rate of test proficiency in math, reading and science among students, US News says.
