Group Stranded On Island Rescued By Montgomery County Crews, State Police Helicopter First responders in Maryland came to the rescue of a group of swimmers who found themselves in a perilous position on Sunday afternoon, officials say. Ten people were removed from the Potomac River by crews in Montgomery County and Fairfax County after they were stranded on an island and their kayak went rogue and floated downstream. Today, at 228pm, @mcfrs Swift Water Team members were dispatched for a group of people stranded on an island, after their red kayak floated downstream.
