Senior Motorcyclist Dies Days After Alexandria Crash An elderly Alexandria man has died after fighting for his life for over a week following a tragic motorcycle crash, authorities say. Darrell Hayes, 75, was rushed to a hospital on the morning of Monday, Oct. 3 after crashing his 2018 Honda Goldwing motorcycle while attempting to make a left turn from northbound Lantern Place to westbound South Kings Highway, according to Fairfax County police.
