Fireworks Sparked July 4th Blaze That Ruined Virginia Homes A day of celebration turned into one of misery for multiple Stafford County families displaced by a fast-moving fire on the Fourth of July. At approximately 10:20 p.m. on Tuesday, July 4, Stafford County Fire and Rescue crews were called to the unit block of Smelters Trace Road in Stafford, when improperly discarded fireworks sparked a blaze that tore through the home.
