Andre Hicks, 40, pleaded guilty earlier this year to second-degree murder while armed in connection to the death of Southeast DC resident Daniel Adams in November 2023.  Superior Court Judge Marisa Demeo sentenced Hicks to 25 years in prison followed by five years of supervised release, authorities announced on Friday. Police ID Teen Gunned Down Leaving Northwest DC High School New details have been released by the Metropolitan Police Department after a 16-year-old was shot and killed leaving his high school on Tuesday afternoon in DC. Maurice Jackson, of Northeast DC, was walking at around 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday, when he began talking with another group of teens, police say.
