'Reckless Driving Meet-Up' Causes Chaos For Officers In Area: Police Chaos ensued for police who broke up what they called a “reckless driving meet-up” in Montgomery County over the weekend. The Takoma Park Police Department arrived to investigate the meet-up at the intersection of New Hampshire and Ethan Allen Avenues around 11:15 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 10 and saw several vehicles doing burnouts, donuts, and other dangerous maneuvers surrounded by a large crowd. Maryland Mechanic Shooting Probed As Homicide: Police The victim of a weekend shooting in Takoma Park has been identified as a Silver Spring man, police say. Nurhusen Muhammed Hamid, 27, succumbed to his injuries Sunday after being shot around 11 a.m., Saturday, July 16 in the parking lot of the Advance Auto Parts store in the 6300 block of New Hampshire Avenue, Takoma Park police say.
